A frog tail metamorphosis assay comprising exposing a tadpole to a test substance, removing a first and second tail portion, subjectingthe first portion to an apoptosis assay , and subjecting the second portion to an assay to detect changes in mRNA transcript levels. DNA primer sequences designed for the determination of gene or transcript information from Anuran species, and which may be used in studies for developmental and/or toxicity testing and for environmental toxicology or ecological assessment. The mRNAs the primers are designed against include col1a2, actb, rps10, plp1, thra, thrb, dio2, thibz, klf9, fn1, mmp2, rpl8, eef1a1, timm50 and otc. |
