PURPOSE:To obtain an image free from contamination by using a magnetic toner, which has magnetic fine particles contained in a binder consisting of a thermoplastic resin having predetermined values of softening point, glass transition point and critical energy. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic charge image formed on an electrostatic charge image support 1 is developed while using a particular magnetic toner to form a toner image. The toner image is press-transferred onto an intermediate transfer medium 4 having a silicone rubber surface. The transferred image on the intermediate transfer medium 4 is transferred onto paper such as a transfer member 7 and then thermally fixed to obtain a visible image. The magnetic toner which is used at transfer includes magnetic fine particles and additives, if necessary, such as a conductive material, coloring agent, lubricant, fluidizing agent, etc., the magnetic particles and additives being contained in a binder consisting of a thermoplastic resin, which has a softening point of 80-120 deg.C, a glass transition point of 50-70 deg.C and a threshold surface energy of 30dyne/cm<2>. |
