METHODS FOR PRODUCING BORYLATED ARENES

Methods for preparing a borylated aromatic compound by contacting an aromatic substrate with a catalytic cobalt complex and a borylation reagent under conditions effective to form the borylated aromatic compound are provided. The catalytic cobalt complex can be any suitable cobalt(l) or cobalt(ll) complex that can catalyze the C-H activation-borylation of the aromatic substrate.
