A nanocrystal display includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels; and a substrate including a plurality of pixel areas corresponding to the plurality of pixels, and a boundary area between the pixel areas. Each pixel includes a first electrode on an upper surface of the substrate and in a corresponding pixel area; a second electrode on the upper surface of the substrate and spaced apart from the first electrode in a cross-section direction, a tunnel-shaped cavity defined in the plurality of pixel areas and spaced apart from the substrate by a predetermined distance; and an image display layer in the tunnel-shaped cavity; and a backlight unit which provides a light to the display panel and faces the upper surface of the substrate. |

1. A nanocrystal display device comprising:
a display panel comprising:
a plurality of pixels, anda substrate comprising a plurality of pixel areas corresponding to the plurality of pixels, and a boundary area between the pixel areas;each pixel comprising:
a first electrode on an upper surface of the substrate and in a corresponding pixel area;a second electrode on the upper surface of the substrate and spaced apart from the first electrode in a cross-section direction;a plurality of tunnel-shaped cavities respectively defined in the plurality of pixel areas;a roof layer overlapping the second electrode, in which the plurality of tunnel-shaped cavities is defined; andan image display layer in the tunnel-shaped cavities defined in the roof layer, and a backlight unit separate from the display panel, which provides a light to the display panel, wherein the roof layer in which the plurality of tunnel-shaped cavities is defined is disposed between the upper surface of the substrate of the display panel and the backlight unit separate from the display panel. |
