摘要 A surface plasmon polariton signal production device according to embodiments of the present invention can include first and second plasmonic waveguide having a gap and a TE mode polarized light element. The first plasmonic waveguide includes at least a pair of first metal-dielectric boundary interfaces wherein surface plasmon polariton of a predetermined combination mode can be spread and is extended from an excitation position of the surface plasmon polariton to a gap starting position. The second plasmonic waveguide includes at least a pair of second metal-dielectric boundary interfaces wherein the surface plasmon polariton of a predetermined combination mode can be spread and is extended from a gap end position which is separated in the progressing direction of the surface plasmon polariton from the gap starting position at a predetermined gap length to an output position of the surface plasmon polariton signal. The TE mode polarized light element induces a TE mode control light signal polarized to form an electric field in a direction which is parallel to the progressing direction of the surface plasmon polariton forming the gap. The gap length can be longer than a minimum gap length wherein the TE mode control light signal can be passed.
