PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording method capable of recording an image excellent in glossiness, scratch resistance and weather resistance on a slow-permeable or non-permeable recording medium.SOLUTION: Provided is an image recording method comprising: a step of applying an ink to a recording medium; and a step of applying a liquid composition. The ink comprises: a pigment; first resin particles; a first surfactant; and water, the liquid composition comprises: second resin particles; a second surfactant; and water, the aspect ratio Y of the pigment is 2.0 to 6.0, the average minor axis Z of the pigment is 50 to 200 nm, the glass transition temperature of the first resin particles is lower than the glass transition temperature of the second resin particles, and the film thickness X(mm) of at least a part of the layer formed with the liquid composition, the aspect ratio Y of the pigment and the average minot axis Z(nm) of the pigment satisfy the relation of X/(Y×Z)≥1.8. |
