PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a yarn winding apparatus capable of rapidly stopping a yarn winding operation by rapidly detecting yarn breakage during yarn winding, and a yarn winding method.SOLUTION: A winding unit 1 includes: a winding part 13 for winding yarn Y; a control part 15 that controls a winding operation of the winding part 13; and a plurality of sensors that are arranged in different positions in a yarn guide where the yarn Y travels and that output a signal by detecting a traveling state of the yarn Y. The control part 15 stops an operation of the winding part 13 on the basis of the signal, which earliest indicates that the yarn Y does not travel, of the signals output from the plurality of sensors. |
