PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric gripper device which is compact and which does not force to perform trouble setting operation, and excellent in operation ability.SOLUTION: An electric gripper device comprises: a body part 2 in which a motor 31 and an encoder 32 are incorporated; a controller 20 incorporated in the body part 2, in addition to the motor 31 and the encoder 32; and a pair of gripping members 4 moving along a rail 5 by the motor 31 and gripping a workpiece wk. The controller 20 accelerates and decelerates movement speed of the pair of gripping members 4 via the motor 31, then moves the pair of gripping members 4 at constant speed from a predetermined low speed travel start position sp which is preset, and makes the gripping members 4 grip the workpiece wk, and automatically changes and updates the low speed travel start position sp according to size of the workpiece wk in consideration of a stop position of the gripping members 4 which is acquired from the encoder 32 at the time. |
