PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus, method, and program for video quality estimation which estimate quality of video distribution service (an expectation value of the average number of times of reproduction stop and an expectation value of total reproduction stop time, per predetermined viewing time) under the precondition that a packet loss rate and round-trip delay time in a network are observed.SOLUTION: A chunk arrival interval variance and chunk average arrival rate are calculated by applying an acquired chunk request transmission interval, chunk length distribution, average decode rate, packet loss ratio, round-trip delay time distribution, and TCP congestion window size maximum value of a TCP stack to a formula of a stochastic process. An expectation value of the number of times of reproduction stop and expectation value of total reproduction stop time in an arbitrary time section whose start point is a viewing start time point at a client terminal are calculated by applying the chunk length distribution, the average decode rate, estimated target time, the chunk arrival interval variance, and the chunk average arrival rate to a diffusion approximation model of a queue model expressing time expansion of the number of chunks in a reproduction buffer. |
