970,756. Two-part couplings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Aug. 24, 1962 [Sept. 1, 1961], No. 32634/62. Heading H2E. [Also in Divisions H1, H4 and H5] In an electronic cooker (see Divisions H4 and H5) microwave energy is fed from a magnetron 90, Fig. 1, to a probe 452 via a coaxial transmission line having sections 100, 200, 300, 400 of which sections 100, 300 have inner and outer conductors of circular cross-section and sections 200, 400 have inner and outer conductors of rectangular cross-section, and the sections are made readily detachable from one another. In Fig. 2 a resilient connection between sections 100, 200 is afforded by sleeves 230, 260. In Fig. 3 circular fitting 291 is gripped by an insulating sleeve 295 (to isolate D.C.) surrounded by a metallic sleeve 296, the upper end of which is slotted to provide resilient gripping fingers; a resilient plug for inner conductor connection is provided at 351. In Fig. 9, which shows the connections between sections 300 and 400, resilient fittings are provided at 443, 431. |
