1,164,853. Unloading mechanism; conveyers- TEXAS INDUSTRIES Inc. 27 Jan., 1967 [21 Feb., 1966], No. 4219/67. Headings B8A and B8E. Apparatus for discharging crop from a fixed platform 1 on which it is deposited, or from a vehicle comprises a raisable and lowerable raking conveyer 10, 11 which feeds the material to a discharge screw conveyer 18. Support plates 5 pivotable about a shaft 4 mount tine carriers 11 by cranks 6 turnable in bearings 7 of the plates 5 and rotated by an electric motor 21 through a belt drive. The tines 10 extend between scraper bars 14 and five carriers 11 are spaced along the cranks 6 across the floor 1. A plate 17 is mounted by arms 16 on the outermost bars 14. The plates 5 are supported by chains 30 going to a winch 29 driven by the motor 21 and in use are raised to allow crop to be placed on the platform 1 and then lowered into contact with the top of the crop. The raking action of the tines 10 then scrapes crop over the plate 17 for discharge by the screw conveyer 18. As discharge progresses the plates 5 are lowered by the winch 29 to keep the tines 10 in contact with the crop while the plate 17 is correspondingly lowered until the floor 1 is cleared. In a modified construction the tine carriers are mounted on a parallelogram linkage and the screw conveyer is replaced by an endless belt conveyer. |
