PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which can quickly warm up an engine while preventing a misfire in a cold state of the engine, and in a region in which a low-load side is liable to be misfired.SOLUTION: A control device of a diesel engine comprises an engine cooling device for circulating an engine cooling liquid which is heat-exchanged with an EGR gas flowing in an EGR cooler being a cooling medium for performing heat exchange with an EGR gas flowing in an EGR cooler to a water jacket of an engine; and a variable valve opening/closing mechanism which can open exhaust valves 13A and 13B even in an intake stroke. An intake swirl is weakened by opening the exhaust valves 13A and 13B by using the variable valve opening/closing mechanism in the intake stroke, and re-introducing exhaust emission into a combustion chamber in a cold state of the engine, and in a region in which a low-load side is liable to be misfired. |
