PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter and a power conditioner using the same that can miniaturize an input capacitor of an inverter circuit and suppress reduction of the power conversion efficiency of the inverter circuit.SOLUTION: A power converter has capacitors C1, C2, a balance circuit 3 and an inverter circuit 4. The capacitors C1, C2 are electrically connected to each other in series between the outputs of a DC conversion circuit 2. The balance circuit 3 shifts electrical energy from the capacitor C1 to the capacitor C2. The inverter circuit 4 is electrically connected between both the ends of the capacitor C2, and converts a DC voltage to an AC voltage. The balance circuit 3 shifts the electrical energy from the capacitor C1 to the capacitor C2 during a period when the electrical energy stored in the capacitor C2 is insufficient to the output voltage of the inverter circuit 4. |
