This invention relates to devices for magnetically treating materials and/or substances. In the present device, individual magnets or groups of magnets are mounted in the side surface of a rotating cylinder or polyhedron. A magnetic screen is situated around the cylinder or polyhedron, said screen having an opening through which the magnetic field of the individual magnets or of a group of magnets arranged back-to-back acts on the materials and/or substances undergoing treatment. The materials and substances are acted on either by the north pole or by the south pole of the magnets, or by the north and south poles of a magnet simultaneously such that the action exerted by the poles of the magnet is the same or is greater for one of the poles, wherein the action is carried out with maximum gradients in the direction of the magnetic field lines. This improves the effectiveness of magnetization and increases the functional capabilities of the device. The device for magnetically treating materials and substances can be used in the chemical industry, agriculture, veterinary science, medicine and other branches of industry.
