摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of extremely enhancing the mechanical strength without especially changing manufacturing efficiency and manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: A peripheral edge surface of a base board cell is smoothened such that a cut surface is physically formed and thereafter is chemically polished, and the smoothed peripheral edge surface is flattened such that the area ratio R=S/S<SB>0</SB>of a decision area S calculated about a measurement region of the peripheral edge surface determined by contour of a virtual flat reference area S<SB>0</SB>to the virtual flat reference area S<SB>0</SB>set in 600μm<SP>2</SP>or more on an XY-flat surface vertical to the surface of the base board cell becomes less than 1.2. The decision area is a surface area calculated by specifying a height T(i, j) in the direction vertical to the XY-flat surface and performing trapezoidal approximation of rugged shape of the surface with respect to the whole of the measurement region sectioned into n*m pieces with pitches of h=90/1,024μm in the X direction and v=67/768μm in the Y direction.
