A door handle for the gas cooking appliance is provided to improve reliability and safety of the product by installing a safety unit preventing burn by the contact from the door handle body up down side among the door open. A door handle for the gas cooking appliance comprises a main body member including the burner part and grill part; a front door(20) forming the front side of the grill part of the main body member; and a door handle(30) installed in the outer side of the front door. The door handle is formed so that user grip in opening and shutting of the front door, and included safety unit(40) for preventing contacted with the front door while a user grip the handle.
