PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyester in which gelatinized substance from an alicyclic diol, particularly gelatinized substance at the time of continuous production in a batch type production system is suppressed. SOLUTION: The method for producing the polyester comprises feeding an alicyclic diol component as a slurry into a reactor having≤100°C temperature in the reactor and carrying out esterification reaction or transesterification and successively carrying out polycondensation reaction when producing a polyester containing at least an alicyclic dicarboxylic acid component and an alicyclic diol component.
