PURPOSE: A system and a method for supporting multicast and broadcast service in a wireless network are provided to perform the service subscription, service participation, service leave, session start, session update, and session close for the multicast/broadcast service efficiently. CONSTITUTION: The MCBCS(Multicast and Broadcast Service) server/controller transmits the authorization result to MBS(Multicast and Broadcast Service) proxy(S607). The serving MBS DPF(Data Path Function) forwards the route registration request message to the BS(Base Station)(S613). The BS transmits the route registration reply message to the serving MBS DPF(S616). The serving MBS DPF transmits the route registration confirmation message to the BS(S620). The BS transmits the DSA- ACK(Dynamic Service Addition-Acknowledgement) message to the MS(Mobile Station)(S621).
