FIELD: metallurgy. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-ferrous metallurgy, specifically to preparation of magnesium chlorate ore for the processes of producing magnesium and chlorine through electrolysis of molten salts. The method of preparing carnallite ore for the process of electrolytic production of magnesium and chlorine involves crushing carnallite ore to obtain pulp, its separation into a liquid and a solid phase, crystallisation of the liquid phase to obtain concentrated carnallite, subsequent two-step dehydration of the carnallite to obtain anhydrous carnallite and the process of electrolytic production of magnesium and chlorine. After crushing, the carnallite ore is loaded into a sealed container, for example an autoclave, heated to temperature 200-300C until formation of pulp. The container is then depressurised. The liquid phase is separated and fed into a sprayer for spraying with simultaneous crystallisation to particle size of 0.2-0.5 mm. The solid phase is removed from the filter of the sealed container. The carnallite ore is processed at high pressure of 0.1-1.5 MPa for 0.5-6.0 hours. ^ EFFECT: simplification of the technique of dehydrating carnallite ore, 18-20% increase in extraction of magnesium chloride, reduced cost of preparing carnallite ore. ^ 3 cl |
