<p>The tripod head has a cylindrical housing (1) with connecting means (11) at one end for a tripod, an aspherical ball joint (2) movable in the housing, a bearing element (4) for the ball joint, and a device (5) for the fixing of the ball joint. The device for the fixing of the ball joint has a support (6) with diametrally disposed engagement sections and which is installed between the bearing element and two sliding components (19,20).
