<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithographic printing original plate capable of direct plate making by scanning exposure based on digital signals, excellent in printing durability, and excellent also in suitability of an unnecessary image portion to elimination with an eliminating liquid. <P>SOLUTION: The lithographic printing original plate is obtained by sequentially disposing, on an aluminum support, an intermediate layer containing a polymer having a group represented by formula (I) and an onium group in a side chain and an infrared laser sensitive positive recording layer containing a novolac resin.
