<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an estimation method of power system impedance that can estimate the system impedance with high accuracy, and provide a device. <P>SOLUTION: Active power P<SB>G</SB>and reactive power Q<SB>G</SB>are generated to a tie point in collaboration with an existing power system that feeds power to a load, an effective value V of a voltage (tie point voltage), the active power P<SB>G</SB>and the reactive power Q<SB>G</SB>at the tie point when intentionally varying the active power P<SB>G</SB>and the reactive power Q<SB>G</SB>are detected, and the power system impedance R+jX is estimated by solving simultaneous equations obtained by substituting the voltage variation ΔV of the time series tie point voltage V detected at a plurality of times, the active power P<SB>G</SB>and the reactive power Q<SB>G</SB>, respectively, for a relational expression: ΔV=R(P-P<SB>G</SB>)+X(Q-Q<SB>G</SB>)...
