Honeycomb structure

A honeycomb structure includes multiple pillar honeycomb units joined by interposing an adhesive layer. The honeycomb units each include zeolite and an inorganic binder and have multiple cells separated by a cell wall. The cells extend from a first end face to a second end face of the honeycomb unit along a longitudinal direction thereof. The adhesive layer includes zeolite. The ratio of the coefficient of thermal expansion of the adhesive layer to the coefficient of thermal expansion of each of the honeycomb units is in the range of 0.8 to 1.2.
