The reciprocating piston engine has housing inner chamber (1) which is subdivided into two separate working chambers (7,8) by two aligning pistons (4,5). Each working chamber is connected with closed inlet channels (11) and outlet channels (12) and a driving gear chamber (9) is placed between the pistons with a drive shaft (2). The drive shaft axis runs transversely to the moving direction of the pistons.
