PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal which can set operations as the object of face authentication and can prevent detections by a manipulator for execution of face authentication. SOLUTION: A control unit 7 judges, in accordance with operation executed to a manipulating unit 2, the relevant operation whether it corresponds or not to the preset items as the operations to which the regular user should execute the authentication process by referring to a memory unit 6 and also determines whether the authentication process should be executed or not.
