The guide (9) has a covered thread guide slot and lateral wall sections, which end in different heights and form a merging slot open to a side for carrying a continuous thread. A thread pacification gap (20) extends on a side lying opposite to a merging slot (15) in a thread running direction. The gap is arranged between a thread stopping edge (14) lying above and a deeply arranged assembly insert (19) of the thread guide. The thread stopping edge is spaced from a center longitudinal axis (13) of the thread guide.
