PURPOSE:To rationalize the distribution of messages by providing a correspondence list between extension telephone numbers and the nearest communication terminal numbers into a store and forward switching device and receiving the external data communication by the hearest communication terminal of an extension telephone. CONSTITUTION:A store and foreard switching device 3 is connected to a network 1 which is controlled by a CPU2. The device 3 consists of a controller 4, a storing device 5 and a register 6. The register 6 stores a list containing the numbers of plural communication terminals (facsimile, etc.) and the nearest extension telephone number of each terminal. The device 5 stores temporarily the external communication. When messages are transmitted from subscriber terminals 8, 9... after designating the extension telephone numbers to which these messages are delivered, the device 3 stores 5 the messages and then transmits the messages to desired extension telephones after selecting the nearest communication terminal out of the register 6. Thus it is not needed for a transmitter to select a communication terminal. |
