A hood stay rod protector for vehicles is provided not to allow a hood stay rod to be separated from a protector when the hood stay rod is inserted into the protector. A hood stay rod protector(30) for vehicles comprises: a space(33) in which a hood stay rod(10) is inserted; and a safety lock unit to prevent the inserted hood stay rod from being separated from the space. The safety lock unit consists of: a lock lever(51) moving side to side on the front side of the protector; a spring inserted into a groove formed on other side of the lock lever; and a cover member combined with the side of the protector.
