<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent drop in catalytic activity caused by a poisoning component, reduce frequency of maintenance, and prevent full discharge of a secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell device 1 includes a fuel cell system having a power generation cell 8 generating power by electrochemical reaction of fuel and oxygen; an air pump 12 taking in outside air and supplying it to the fuel cell system; a catalyst carried in the fuel cell system for accelerating electrochemical reaction of fuel and oxygen; a gas sensor 13 detecting the concentration of poisoning components of a catalyst in the outside air; and a control part 33 controlling the operation of at least the air pump 12 according to a signal of the gas sensor 13, and the control part stops the air pump 12 when the gas sensor 13 detects the concentration of the poisoning component is a prescribed concentration or higher. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
