A light emitting diode, a light source apparatus having the light emitting diode and a method for driving the same are provided to sense light emitted from a light emitting diode used as a light source apparatus, thereby correcting brightness and color of the light source apparatus. A light source apparatus comprises a plurality of light emitting diode cells(11~13,21~23,31~33) and a cell driving unit. At least a part of the light emitting diode cells is driven by different timing so that light power emitted from other light emitting diode cells driven at the same timing is sensed. A cell driving unit individually drives the plurality of light emitting diode cells.
