PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge control agent, having negative charge applying property at a practical level, colorless or a tint to be used for color toner, having stable static charge by charging of resin powder such as toner against an environmental change, superior in keeping stability and durability, and having high safety; and a charge control method for resin powder using the charge control agent. SOLUTION: This charge control agent takes a compound expressed by a general formula (I) as an effective component, and a charge control method for resin powder and a toner using the charge control agent are provided.
