PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a housing type pipe fitting capable of maintaining the sealing performance satisfactorily even in the case the inside of the piping has a positive pressure. SOLUTION: The housing type pipe fitting 1 is equipped with a housing 10 in annular shape as a whole and a gasket 20 formed from an annular piece of resilient material. The section perpendicular to the circumferential direction of this gasket 20 is in a channel shape with the inside forming an open end, and each tip part thereof is furnished with an inner overhang 20a overhanging inward and an outer overhang 20b overhanging outward. The gasket 20 is attached to the peripheral surfaces of two connection ends in such a manner as straddling the two parts of piping 50 to be connected. The housing 10 is installed in such an arrangement as covering the gasket 20 while it presses the gasket 20 to the two parts of piping 50. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
