1281007 Fish feeder J A HENRIKSEN 1 Dec 1969 [3 Dec 1968] 57282/68 Heading A1A [Also in Division F2] In a device for feeding fish, the food is blown out over the water by compressed air. Food tank 4 supplies food to dose chamber 6. Air chamber 12 is connected to pipe 10 via valve 16. On opening valve 16 air passes through pipe 10 and blows the food out through pipe 8. The valve is designed so that the air passes through pipe 10 comparatively slowly at first, but with increasing speed, so that the food is blown out over a period of time and spread over a wide area. The operation of the device is controlled by a clock 20 which operates valves 24 and 26. When valve 26 is opened compressed air is supplied to valve 16 causing it to open, simultaneously valve 24 is closed, stopping further supply of air to air tank 12. After a preset time valve 26 is closed and valve 24 is opened causing the valve 16 to close and the air pressure in the air tank to build up. A manually operated valve 30, Fig. 2, and a non-return valve 32 are mounted on the air tank. The valve operates by air entering 64 from the control line 18, causing diaphragm 60 to rise, which in turn lifts the valve member 42 off valve seat 35. |
