PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a correction method and device capable of correcting distortion of an image projected to a projection medium such as a screen or a curtain substituted for the screen from a projection device such as a projector. SOLUTION: In the correction device 1 used as a projection device, the image projected to the projection medium is taken by an imaging part 10; distortion of the taken image is detected by a detection means 150 of a correction calculation part 15; a correction amount eliminating the detected distortion is calculated by a calculation means 151; and the image to be projected is corrected based on the calculated correction amount.
