PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine control device capable of detecting failure of a magnet type AC generator used for detecting reverse rotation. SOLUTION: This internal combustion engine control device grasps the ignition timing based on a crank signal output every time when a crankshaft rotates at a predetermined angle from a crank angle detecting means arranged in the internal combustion engine, and controls ignition for igniting an internal combustion engine in the ignition timing. The device has a control means for determining to be the failure of the magnet type AC generator, when there is no change in polarity, by determining the polarity of an AC voltage signal every time when detecting the crank signal, with a monophasic AC voltage signal output from the magnet type AC generator synchronously rotating with the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine as input.
