PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely correct the skewing of a medium irrespective of the skewing amount of the medium when utilizing the deflection of the medium caused by the abutment on an abutment member for correcting the skewing of the medium. SOLUTION: This medium carrying device comprises the abutment member 11 on which the front end of the medium P abuts, a medium feeding member 12 for carrying the medium P toward the abutment member 11 until abutting on the abutment member 11 to cause the deflection of the medium P, a supporting member 14 for supporting the abutment member 11 to give rocking to the abutment member 11 along the moving direction of the medium P, and an operation restricting means 15 for restricting the rocking operation of the supporting member 14 to fix the abutment member 11 to a predetermined position without rocking.
