PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize the balance of the frame rate of a contrast image and the image quality of a reference image. SOLUTION: The reference image is formed by manually or automatically switching between a received signal according to a transmitting pulse for contrast imaging, or the received signal according to a transmitting pulse for reference after transmitting the pulse is switched manually or automatically. The frame rate of the contrast image is not reduced until/unless the transmitting pulse for reference is transmitted. Further, the reference image with good image quality can be obtained when the transmitting pulse for reference is transmitted. The operation can be switched manually or automatically.
