PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an apparatus and a method for generating a play list for reproducing contents matched with the liking of a user. SOLUTION: A probability model corresponding to the time series pattern of content featured value being content featured value information is stored in a model information holding part, comparison (likelihood calculation) of a content featured value time series pattern corresponding to each of a plurality of permutation patterns of reproduction orders of content to be reproduced with the probability model stored in the model information holding part is executed, a play list in which a contents reproduction order is set according to the featured value time series pattern most similar to the probability model is generated, and then, contents reproduction conforming to the generated play list is executed.
