PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electro-optical device capable of surely pasting another substrate to one substrate only by a thermosetting adhesive, reducing a manufacturing cost, and improving quality, and an apparatus for manufacturing the electro-optical device. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method includes a pasting step of laminating a large sheet cover glass substrate 300 to a large sheet substrate 110; a placing step of placing the large sheet substrate 110 on a low-thermal conductivity area 90 of a tool 70 at least partly composed of a low-thermal conductivity material, and an adhesive curing step of making the low-thermal conductivity area 90 generate heat by irradiating the low-thermal conductivity area 90 with light from a photoirradiation device 70, and curing at least a part of the low-thermal conductivity area 90.
