<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-sided sheet feeder capable of more improving assemblability and maintainability, inexpensively detecting a backing sheet while maintaining detecting accuracy, and besides subsequently adding a backing sheet detecting function to an image forming device having no backing sheet detecting function and performing double-sided printing. <P>SOLUTION: Image detection means 76 detecting whether or not printing on the back surface of recording paper P is finished includes a reflection photosensor. The image detection means 76 is provided in the double-sided sheet feeder 70 detachably mounted to the image forming device.
