PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is capable of suppressing follow-up delays, with respect to impedance fluctuations and the reduction in the accuracy of power supply control. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 is provided with a transfer means 30; a supply means 63 which supplies power corresponding to a set value to the transfer means 30; a detecting means 67 which detects a controlled value supplied to the transfer means 30; a changing means 62 which changes the set value, according to the difference between the controlled value detected by the detecting means 67 and a target value; and a switching means 62 which switches between a short interval mode, in which the execution time interval of the change of the set value by the changing means 62 is short and a long interval mode, in which the execution time interval of the change of the set value is long.
