The axial retaining arrangement has a bearing bushing (9) in a bearing bore (10) forming a bore wall (7) of a yoke arm of a joint yoke belonging to a universal joint or of a bearing element. The bushing has an outer face (11) which rests in the bearing bore. The bore defines a longitudinal axis. A retaining ring has a second ring following to the first ring that is elastic in the radial direction and forms an engagement edge that, depending on the arrangement of the annular groove to the bearing bore or the bearing bushing presses against the bore wall or the outer face, respectively.
