PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus wherein substantially all of an organic material is oxidized. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a method for oxidizing an organic material comprises the steps of (a) forming a pre-oxidized mixture containing the organic material and water and (b) causing the pre-oxidation mixture to react with a liquid oxidizing agent in a continuous flow reactor under a supercritical water condition including a pressure of at least 3,206 psia and a temperature of at least 705°F, to form a post-oxidation mixture containing a condensible material and a noncondensible material, wherein substantially all of the organic material is oxidized.
