PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device of a compact external belt heating fixing method by improving adhesion to a fixing roller of an endless belt without providing a complicated mechanism, and having excellent heat feed performance. SOLUTION: The fixing device of the external belt heating fixing method includes: preparing a contact pressing stretching member on the inner peripheral side of an endless belt; pushing part of a heating nip part from the inner peripheral side of the endless belt to a fixing member: receiving reaction of the endless belt given with tension; elastically deforming part or the whole of the contact pressing stretching member; thus allowing restoration force due to the reaction to act on part of a nip formed by the endless belt and the fixing member to improve heat conduction; and increasing heat fed from the endless belt to the fixing member.
