It is described a solid, sustained-release, oral dosage form pharmaceutical compositions which contain therapeutic amounts of a pharmaceutically active agent, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose and a non-ionic hydrophilic polymer selected from the group consisting of hydroxyethyl cellulose having a number average molecular weight ranging from 90000 to 1300000, hydroxypropyl cellulose having a number average molecular weight of 370000 to 1500000 and poly(ethylene oxide) having a number average molecular weight ranging from 100000 to 500000.
