A secondary battery is provided to miniaturize the size of a battery by reducing the space between a protective circuit board and a bare cell and to facilitate the welding work by forming a connection layer made of a material having conductivity on the surface of the cap-plate of a bare cell. A secondary battery comprises an electrode assembly(122) equipped with a positive plate(123), a negative plate(125) and a separator(124) insulating the positive plate and the negative plate; a can(120) accommodated with the electrode assembly; a bare cell(110) including a cap assembly(130) consisting of a cap-plate(131) sealing the top opening of can and electrode terminal(152); a protective circuit board(150) connected to the bare cell; and a connection layer to connect the electrode terminal of the protective circuit board on the surface of the cap-plate. |
