In a pneumatic tyre having a breaker strip 4 comprising superposed cross-laid plies 5 of parallel inextensible cords, the carcass cords 2, which may extend continuously from bead to bead, are undulated in the region 2<SP>1</SP> radially inward of the breaker strip. The undulations, which are contained in a plane parallel to the breaker strip, have a maximum amplitude of between one and three times the thickness of a carcass cord, and as they progress from radially inwardly of the breaker strip edges towards the tyre's mid-circumferential plane, their amplitude increases and their " wavelength " decreases. |
