<p>The present invention relates to a textile surface for thermal insulation, in particular for making protective garments, in particular garments for protecting firefighters, the textile surface presenting a thermal barrier function and comprising threads of type A that are temperature-stable and presenting little or no shrinkage under the effect of high temperature, and threads of type B that shrink under the effect of high temperature; the threads of type B enable controlled relief to be created, thereby increasing the insulating power of textile multilayer structures that are used for providing thermal protection.
