A high-capacity secondary lithium battery with excellent productivity is provided to be used for the power source of a mobile unit, vehicle, bicycle and autobicycle. A high-capacity secondary lithium battery containing a negative electrode(2) is formed with a negative layer containing a carbonaceous material at one side or both side of a negative collector. The negative layer has a density of 1.7 g / cm^3 or greater and a diameter measured by a mercury porosimeter of 0.9mum. The carbonaceous material comprises a carbonaceous material (A) having D50 of 15-25 mum and the compressive strength of 16 MPa or more and a carbonaceous material (B) having D50 of 15-25 mum and the compressive strength of 15 MPa or less. |
