[PROBLEMS] To provide a disc failure prediction device for predicting a hard disc having a possibility of head failure and informing the prediction of failure so that the hard disc can be replaced before it becomes unavailable due to failure. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The disc failure prediction device for informing failure prediction of a disc drive comprises an error position information storing memory for storing error position information that indicates a position where a read error of data stored on the disc medium in the disc drive is generated, a periodicity detecting means for detecting the periodicity of error based on the stored error position information, and a failure prediction informing means for informing failure prediction of the disc drive when periodicity of the error is detected.
